Ülle Järve / Lerve
An artist who loves materials, different techniques, and the freedom to experiment.
Ülle Järve, artist name Lerve, was born and raised in Tallinn and has been living in Türi for 18 years, where she works as a freelance creator. She has had a close relationship with art since childhood – starting with her first drawings and crafts, later moving into more in-depth studies. Her journey began in an art club, continued at Tallinn Secondary School No. 24 with an arts focus, and expanded into various applied arts fields: ceramics, mosaic, stained glass, leather, wood, and metalwork, which she studied both under private tutors and at the Open Academy of the Estonian Academy of Arts.
She does not set strict stylistic boundaries – in her work, abstraction, landscapes, fantasy creatures, and explorations of form alternate depending on what inspires her at the moment.
In painting, Lerve values above all the process and the joy of discovery. She believes that painting must be exciting and enriching, and therefore consciously experiments with different styles and techniques – including oil, acrylic, acrylic ink, and watercolor – each time discovering new approaches to her subjects.
To date, Lerve has participated in more than 80 exhibitions and displays, both group and solo, reflecting her active involvement in the art scene and the wide reception of her creative work.
